SD Retreat Info (Please Read!!!)

The first IMPACT Retreat for 2014 is this weekend! I’m excited to be traveling to western South Dakota on Thursday, September 25. The retreat begins Friday evening and concludes Sunday morning. Here are some important details you need to know:
“Becoming the Spiritual Leader God Has Called You to Be.”
Friday PM: You Can Do This. “There is a glaring need for men to step up and lead their families in the way of God. Don’t sell yourself short. God will equip you to fulfill His purposes for you and your family.”
Saturday AM: Essential Qualities of Godly Leaders. “Discover the important building blocks every spiritual leader needs to solidify his influence.”
Saturday PM: Seeing the Big Picture. “Six things to keep your mind in the proper perspective as you go forward.”

  • The retreat is at the Stockade Lake South Campground. Cabins 8-13 are reserved. Each cabin sleeps 3 individuals comfortably. For more info/directions, please visit:
  • Room assignments will be made next week and given to you as you arrive Friday pm.
  • Please arrive by 6 pm Friday evening. Supper will be served around 6.30 pm. Friday evening’s devotional will be after supper.
  • Be sure to bring a folding chair with you.
  • Other essentials:
    • Cooking utensils for outdoor cooking (if you plan on doing any cooking yourself)
    • Food and cooler for storage (if necessary)
    • Personal toiletries; Flashlight Container for water
  • Remember that:
    • Each cabin has heating, air conditioning and electricity
    • Each cabin is furnished with a set of bunk beds, double bed, table and benches\
    • Outside accommodations include a fire grate, picnic table and a porch
    • Cabins do not have restrooms, running water, or kitchens. (There are showers and flush toilets located in the campground, just a few hundred yards from each cabin.)
  • Friday supper, Saturday breakfast, & Saturday supper will be provided by the retreat. You are responsible for breakfast Sunday, as well as any snacks, special foods you want to bring.
  • Saturday am’s devotional will be held at approx 10 am. After that, you’ll have free time to explore Custer State Park, or visit other close Black Hills Attractions. Saturday pm’s supper will be at 5.30 with the devotional to follow after that.
    • The Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup is Saturday morning.
    • The Crazy Horse Volksmarch is Sunday & Monday.
  • Park entrance fees will be charged for each vehicle you bring. You are responsible for this fee.
  • No pets are allowed.
  • There is no smoking or cooking permitted inside the cabins.
  • Linens are not included, please remember to bring you own.
  • Checkout Sunday morning. We’ll need to leave the campground in time to be back to the am service in Rapid City, which begins @ 9.30 am.
